Citrix Access Essentials Connectivity Testing

This service enables you to test the Internet connectivity of your Access Essentials server. This service will connect back to your server, over the Internet, to perform a number of basic connectivity tests. This can give a good indication of whether your Access Essentials server has been correctly configured for access over the Internet.

Get Started

To get started, just type in the Fully-Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of your server. This is the name you specified when you configured Access Essentials External Access, without the 'https://' prefix.

Server FQDN:
(e.g. citrix.exampledomain.com)

If you are re-running a test, please use the form below. This may avoid you needing to re-authorize via e-mail.

Request A Re-test

If you want to re-run a test, please provide your server FQDN and existing Authorization Code below.

Server FQDN:
Authorization Code:

Tip: If you authorized via e-mail, you can re-use an Authorization Code for related server FQDNs, for example if you authorized citrix1.exampledomain.com, using the email address me@exampledomain.com, you can re-use the code to test citrix2.exampledomain.com.

Limitations

Sorry, but this tool isn't for everyone. This tool is only for deployments where you're using Access Essentials stand-alone for Internet access. If you're using a VPN, such as Citrix Access Gateway, I'm afraid this tool is not for you.

Privacy

To prevent the mis-use of this service, you may be asked to verify your relationship to server subject to the test, by supplying a valid email address in the same domain. In addition, third-parties outside of our control, such as our hosting company or your ISP, may hold records that record your use of this service.

All information logged may be used to generate statistics on the use of the service. These statistics will only be distributed in aggregate form, without information that may be used to identify you.

FAQ

Why am I asked for an email address?
We try to automatically authorize your use of this service, based on your IP address. If we are unable to establish a relationship between your IP address and that of the server to be tested, you will be asked to confirm this relationship by email.
Can I avoid having to supply an email address?
Yes, run the test from the same IP address as that your server runs on.
Can I authorize someone else to run a test?
Yes. Once you have received an Authorization Code, you can give that code to anyone you want, to authorize them to perform tests on your server.
Does an Authorization Code last indefinitely?
No, for your protection an Authorization Code is only valid for a couple of days.
I think someone has discovered my Authorization Code, what should I do?
Don't worry. This service can only be used to perform a limited number of tests and does not allow access to your server. If you are concerned, you can cancel an Authorization Code at any time.
Does a 'pass' guarantee that my server is correctly configured?
No. There are a number of configuration settings that may prevent clients from connecting that cannot be confirmed by this service. We hope to add to the tests in the future, for example, to improve the validation of SSL certificates. Some settings cannot be tested without user credentials - we have no intention to add such tests at the present time.
Does this service guarantee that my server can be used by any client with an Internet connection?
No. In addition to the answer above about server configuration, specific clients may be unable to connect for a number of other reasons - such as the server address being blocked by a firewall, or the software client not having installed correctly.
Is this an official Citrix service?
No. This service is run for your convenience by the product engineering team. Please do not contact Citrix support regarding this service; they will not be able to help you. This service is not part of the Citrix Access Essentials product, and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
